Introduction

Soil

Soil is the topmost part of the ground where we plant our crops and do all our farming work.

Soil is the top layer of the earth where farming and other agricultural activities take place.

It is simply the ground surface that allows plants to stay inside and get food.

Soil contains things that were once alive and things that were never alive which we see on the ground.

Soil is made up of both organic and inorganic materials found on the earth's surface.

This means the soil is a mixture of dead plants, animals, and broken rocks.

Soil gives plants a good place to stay so they can grow tall and healthy.

Soil provides the necessary environment for plants to grow.

Without the soil, plants will not have anywhere to stand or get water to grow.

There are three main types of soil.

These are:

Sandy soil

Loamy soil

Clayey soil
